I'm back with something useful for your writing

Author's Notes

Hi friends,

It's been a little quiet here for a while, and that wasn't intentional.

Between life, writing, and everything else that seems to compete for attention, my newsletter slipped to the bottom of the list for a bit. But the conversations about writing are some of my favorite ones to have, so I'm opening that door again.

If you're here, you're probably a storyteller at heart. Maybe you're drafting a novel, tinkering with a short story, or just trying to get words onto the page consistently.

So let's start simple.

  1. Author’s Notes
  2. Sneak Peak
  3. Character Spotlight
  4. Sharpen Your Skills

Sneak Peak

If you're craving a heart-pounding journey filled with twists, adrenaline, and steamy romance—you're in the right place.

I'm currently weaving together another intense romantic suspense adventure, and I can't wait to bring you along for the ride! Picture fierce heroines, alpha protectors, and plot twists you'll never see coming.

Stay tuned because I'll be sharing exclusive sneak peeks, character reveals, and behind-the-scenes glimpses that you won't find anywhere else.

Want to help shape the adventure? Reply to this email and tell me what excites you most—dangerous twists or romantic sparks?

Let's chase thrills together!

Character Spotlight

Serena Whitman

  • Strength: Her tenacity—Serena doesn't allow anything or anyone to stand in her way.
  • Three words: Relentless, Independent, Vigilant
  • Secret/Vulnerability: She is walking a tightrope between carrying out her duty and hiding a secret that could destroy her.
  • Profession: Interpol Agent, specializing in field investigations.
  • Notable Trait: Has a real issue with bending to authority

Sharpen Your Skills

One of the most powerful things a writer can do is practice intentionally.

Not just writing pages, but sharpening specific skills the way athletes train muscles.

For example:

Try this exercise the next time you sit down to write.

Write a scene using only dialogue.

No narration.
No description.
Just the characters talking.

You will immediately start noticing things like:

• How each character speaks differently
• Where tension builds in conversation
• What goes unsaid between lines

Dialogue-only scenes are one of the fastest ways to improve your ability to write natural conversations.

If you'd like, reply and tell me how the exercise went. I love hearing what people discover when they try things like this.

In the coming weeks I'll be sharing more practical tools like this, along with pieces about storytelling, craft, and the strange and wonderful work of writing novels.

If there's a topic you'd like me to cover, hit reply and let me know.
